You experienced negative side effects with the SSRIs and SNRIs and want an alternative treatment for your symptoms of psychological distress.

An alternative is psilocybin, the active ingredient in hallucinogenic mushrooms. Psilocybin has a similar chemical structure to the neurotransmitter serotonin. It can cause an “altered state of consciousness characterized by changes in perception, cognition, and mood." It can also produce visual illusions, "states of ecstasy, dissolution of ego boundaries, and the experience of union with others and with the natural world” (Grob, C. S., Bossis, A. P., & Griffiths, R. R. ).

Click to enter Shroomland and learn more about the potential use of psilocybin as a treatment for the distress experienced by terminal cancer patients.
